Should i buy UGG boots?

I am really against wearing something form an animal. But my friends say that they don't hurt the sheep to get the fur. It actually good for them they said. Is this true?

Should i buy UGG boots?
Well, they're probably doing 1000s of sheep every day so I'd think it MIGHT hurt them a little. But if you find UGGS cool, why not. I had a pair, too.

Many people believe that shearing sheep helps animals who might otherwise be burdened with too much wool. But without human interference, sheep grow just enough wool to protect themselves from temperature extremes. The fleece provides effective insulation against both cold and heat.

Shearers are usually paid by volume, not by the hour, which encourages fast work without regard for the welfare of the sheep. Says one eyewitness: "[T]he shearing shed must be one of the worst places in the world for cruelty to animals … I have seen shearers punch sheep with their shears or their fists until the sheep's nose bled. I have seen sheep with half their faces shorn off …"

Here's some info about Australian wool. Look into it:

I was surprised myself.. Report It

Reply:get the boots, stay away from lamb chops
Reply:Yes i'm pretty sure .. i think you should buy them before they sell out! They're VERY comfortable and warm to just slip on and off .. best of luck
Reply:First of all,do you like them?I think they suck!

Don't worry about the animals, they don't get hurt or something
Reply:Don't worry honey, you won't hurt them at all. It is really sweet of you to worry about the sheeps though. Have fun with your Ugg's.
Reply:Yes get them, they are very comfy and stylish and no they don't hurt the sheep.
Reply:It's not like they cut the sheeps skin off too. Just the hair. I don't know if it's good for them but, what the heck?
Reply:no they do not hurt the sheep. i too am against fur and snake skin %26amp; all that ****
Reply:Your friend's totally right. Shearing the sheep for wool IS good for them- when they have too much wool, their body temperatures rise too much. but when you shear them for the wool it cools them down just enough. And, of course, it grows back.
Reply:yes, trimming the wool off of the sheep cool them down when its hot out, and it does not hurt them, its like geting a haircut!
Reply:They do not hurt the sheep,

they just sheer the fur off them to keep them cooler.

Reply:hate to break it to you but...everyone seems to be forgetting that even though the inside of the boot is made of sheeps wool (not harmful)...the outside is sheeps skin! yeah...that means some poor critter had to die. sorry.

the larger point here is...uggs are the fashion statement of 3 years ago. let it go.
